Location: Issy-les-Moulineaux
Issy-les-Moulineaux, in partnership with ELABORATOR partner Colas, is deploying the Flowell solution, an interactive system of illuminated signs on the ground along the banks of the Seine, as part of the ELABORATOR project. This is a pioneering initiative in France, designed to improve safety for cyclists at intersections.
Flowell, a unique system for cyclists
The system being tested, designed to improve safety for cyclists, features continuous and discontinuous light lines and bicycle pictograms integrated into the ground. Located at the intersection of the RD50 (Rue Rouget de Lisle) and the RD7 (Quai Franklin Roosevelt), near the Pont d'Issy, this system guarantees the visual continuity of the cycle lane. Thanks to dynamic, interactive markings, motorists are alerted to the presence of cyclists and encouraged to stop when they turn right towards the RD7. This system, powered by LEDs and activated by sensors only when cyclists pass, provides better visibility and reduces the risks associated with blind spots or inattention.
On 19 December André Santini, Former Minister, Mayor of Issy-les-Moulineaux, and Pierre Vanstoflegatte, CEO of Colas, will inaugurate Flowell to the public.
